Little Amigos was started by Clare Knight after she and her husband were volunteers at a centre for poor and disadvantaged children in the capital, Quito in 2007.  The people who make the clothes are typically families who work from their homes. They use hand powered machinery (no electricity!) and each piece of clothing is finished by hand sewing giving an individual touch to each item.
